At Made the Edit we are committed to maintaining the trust and privacy of our customers. In particular, we want you to know we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. Information we collect
In running and maintaining our business, we may collect and process the following data about you:
Information provided by you, for example, personal details when you register for information, enter a competition or make a purchase.
We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location based information.
We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimise this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymised form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. Text Marketing and notifications
By entering your phone number in the checkout and initialising a purchase, subscribing via our subscription form or a keyword, you agree that we may send you text notifications (for your order, including abandoned cart reminders) and text marketing offers. Text marketing messages will not exceed 6 a month. You acknowledge that consent is not a condition for any purchase.
If you wish to unsubscribe from receiving text marketing messages and notifications reply with STOP to any mobile message sent from us or use the unsubscribe link we provided you with in any of our messages. You understand and agree that alternative methods of opting out, such as using alternative words or requests will not be accounted as a reasonable means of opting out. Why we need it
We need to know your personal data so that we can provide you with the products you have requested. We will not collect any data that we do not need in order to provide and oversee this request.
What we would like to do with it
As part of the registration process for our mailing list we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons:
1. to tell you about anything you’ve asked us to tell you about
2. to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information
3. to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.
We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. How long do we keep your data?
We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.
Use of your information
In order to make certain services available to you, we may need to share your personal data with some of our service partners. This may include delivery partners to ensure goods you order through the website arrive safely to you.
We only allows its service providers to handle your personal data when we have confirmed that they apply appropriate data protection and security controls.
Storing your personal data
In operating our business via Made the Edit website, your data is processed by our staff in the UK. We do not provide our own IT servers. However, no third party shall have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.
Obviously we do our utmost to ensure that our server hosts are secure and fully accredited. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for any illegal breaches that may occur.
Storage of your payment details
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

Use of cookies
Cookies provide information regarding the computer used by a visitor. We may use cookies where appropriate to gather information about your computer in order to assist us in improving our website.

When someone visits www.madetheedit.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Your rights
If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted.
